Front Axle Third Member Mount Bushes

FRONT AXLE THIRD MEMBER MOUNT BUSHES You may remember reading in the "Lake Destruct" Blog, how I'd lost the bushes and bolt from the front axle third member to chassis mount -
This allowed the back of the front axle to rise up -
And attack the bottom of the gearbox! So at the time it wasn't possible to get just the bushes anywhere, so I had to get a replacement bracket from a breaker* -
So, when I reassembled it I ran a weld around the end of the bolt to keep it in place this time! * I actually bought two replacement brackets, the second was to be used for development...
Being as the bushes weren't available seperately, I thought I've had some made...! So here's the standard replacement in signature orange from FloFlex Polyurethane (they only make these bushes for me, as I own all the Suzuki related tooling and moulds).
While I was specifying the dimensions for the replacement bushes, I couldn't help but think "we"
So, with help from Rich' at FloFlex, we came up with this design of bush that would sit in the stack of the third member mount and allow the axle mount to angle down to match the dropped front of the axle, rather than the rubber bushes have to twist and sit at a twisted angle, and thus under stress too!
And, here you can see the prototype pre-production bushes sat in the axle mount stack, pointing the rear mount bracket down to suit the angle of the re-seated, dropped at the front, position...
And from the mount side, again you can see the angled down mounting These will be in stock real soon! Related Blogs

Customer Feedback
To Bush, or not to Bush
"Yet another stunning addition to my vitara..
all but completely elimitated the axle wrap (or a lesser version of) on the vitara.. it now feels tight and planted on the road, and the offroad feel is fantastic (where as before it wallowed at best) i can now feel what each wheel is doing at all times.
Extremely impressed, another great product from Bits4vits..
(also, the orange looks fantastic, dont bother with the boring pro-comp blue, get the bright orange for added hooligan effect)"
