Recovery Bar / Tow Points to fit on the front of a Vitara and also fits an SJ / Samuari if you trim the bar down slightly.
There's nowhere strong enough on the front of a Vitara (or SJ) to attach a tow rope / strop for offroad recovery... the towing eye welded to the chassis was only ever designed for on road towing or for lashing down the vehicle when in transit, it's not strong enough to recover / tow / winch / snatch offroad.
So I designed this bar to fit through the front chassis crossmember tube on a Vitara (then others discovered it would also fit the SJ / Samurai with a little trimming). It's made from a one metre length of high tensile zinc plated threaded bar with huge nuts that just fit inside the chassis crossmember tube, then a large washer caps the end of the chassis tube and another nut is used on the outside to tighten it up... then a 3/4" thick figure-8 shaped profile cut piece of steel plate is used to hang the D-shackles off... then finally a huge Nyloc nut and washer holds everything in place.
Note that the D-Shackles on this latest batch are now 3.25 ton rated and tested shackles, provided by www.4x4recovery.com - lots of strops and other recovery gear in their shop at competitive prices!
Has often been copied by home builders and other Suzuki bits sellers, but this is the original...! ;)
Application : Suzuki Vitara (Tracker, Sidekick, Escudo) / X90 / Suzuki SJ / Samurai (bar needs trimming slightly if fitting to an SJ / Samurai)
Construction : High Tensile Threaded Bar, Nuts and Washes, Galvanised 3/4" thick shackle mounts.
Finish : Zinc'ed / Galvanised
