Contents - 5 way manifold block, sufficient black pipe to extend all four breathers, ty-wraps to attach the pipes to the chassis, and self-cutting self tapping screws to mount the manifold to the engine firewall - see "More Images" link above ;)
The manifold block mounted on the access plate on the engine firewall... the left pipe goes all the way to the back axle, the three pointing down go to the front axle, gearbox and transfer box, and the right one goes to the highest possible point, or preferably into your snorkel.
This is how I did mine -
That's the breather tube that goes up into the void behind the rear lights... pull it out ;)
And that's the right angle bracket on the chassis crossmember tube... un-bolt that from the chassis and retain...
So, we've now got this bit of pipe and the right angle bracket to recycle...
So, we re-use the two pieces of pipe and the right angled bracket - pull the two pipes off the right angled bracket and pop them back the other way round and shorten slightly if need be. So we end up with a short piece of rubber pipe for the breather extension tube to squeeze tightly into, and a nice longer piece of pipe to go down from the chassis crossmember to the axle's breather connector. You'll need a longer piece as your Vitara should not sit higher and articulate more, so the original breather will be too short by now anyway ;)
Using the supplied black breather extension tube, you can then connect into the shorter end of the retained rubber hose, and run the breather tube all the way down the chassis rail (the brake pipes are handy to ty-wrap it to) and up into the engine bay to where the breather connecting flange block is / will be mounted.
The front axle breather is extended up using a short piece of the existing rubber breather hose with the new breather extension tube pushed tightly into it, this also needs to reach up to the breather flange block on the engine firewall.
If you look down the back of the engine onto the top of the gearbox, you'll see this T-Piece where the gearbox and transfer box breathers mount, take the T-Piece out and extend the gearbox and transfer box breathers up to the breather flange block seperately...
So you'll end up with the block looking like this... the left tube goes all the way back to the rear axle, the other three pointing down are (from left to right) the front axle breather, the gearbox breather and the transfer box breather... the right hand tube needs to go to the highest point you can -
Ideally the breather needs to go to the highest point possible - the snorkel!
On this Vitara the breather comes through the top of the wing and up the side of the (Safari) snorkel...
On this installation the breather tube enters the head of the Safari Snorkel through the back of the head...
Note - won't fit SJ / Samurai's as they have different sized stock breathers, so this pipe won't fit snuggly into the SJ's breathers...
