Driveshaft Nylon Support Bearing

Product Information

A Bits4Vits Product Driveshaft Nylon Support "Bearing"

Now, I'd never say that Suzuki had a design fault on the Vitara, because as we all know, the Vitara is a perfect little offroader, but let's just say that in Australia they have this locally sourced part, reference SZ-27619-65D00 , which is a Nylon Support "Bearing" than is installed behind the oil seal on the driver's side of the front axle (in the UK ). It's job is to stop the end of the driveshaft waggling round like a stick in a bucket of mud! LOL, very technical, but I know some of you will have experienced it!

Firstly, Many thanks to Steve "Munkee" Lawrence off www.shropshire-suzuki.co.uk for all these pictures! Thanks Munkee!  Who was the guinea-pig for this product, after I wrongly fitted mine!

So, view of two axle casings - steel on the left, chocolate, err, sorry alloy on the right  and in the foreground the Nylon Support Bearing.

On the steel axle you can see the oil seal is still in place, on the alloy one it's been removed...

You can just about see the lip behind it...

So, Steve levers the old oil seal out with a screwdriver...

And here you can see the lip again...

The support bearing slots in with the rim facing outwards. (Steve ground a little off as his was a bit tight)

In it goes, and a few gentle taps home...

... Oil Seal to fit back in, you can re-use the old one if it's in good condition, or you can fit a new one - available in the store, and shown below as a recommended accessory (at dealer's RRP of course ).

And there's the oil seal tapped into place with the rubber mallet too...

Now, when the driveshaft - or stubby "half-shaft" in my case - is reinserted, the Nylon Support Bearing stops it waggling around and letting oil escape!

My sincere thanks to Steve for testing this product for me, and for providing the photos... Thanks Mate!

NOTE - Now with a small oil hole to lubricate the oil seal

(The photo shows two "bearings" just for illustrative purposes, so that you can see both aspects of it, only one is needed and supplied)
